S300 is a 31-bed unit that provides care to adult general medical patients. The unit, located on the third floor of the south wing of Good Shepherd Medical Center, has 31 private rooms and provides care to a broad range of patients.
The purpose of the unit is to provide quality care to patients who are acutely or chronically ill, in varying stages of recuperation from the disease process and/or diagnostic interventions. Common candidates for admission include: patients with fever of unknown origin, respiratory infections, congestive heart failure, cellulites, anemia, abdominal pain, diabetes mellitus, renal insufficiency, as well as downgrades from the critical care units.
