OverviewThis position independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients in a variety of health care settings.
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is looking for a full time Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Respiratory Care Department in Alaska's "Golden Heart City". Fairbanks, Alaska is located in the interior of the state where you can find adventure, culture, solitude or scenery. The Respiratory Care Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year round and serves all respiratory impaired patients both acute and chronic with adult, pediatric and neonatal patients. General therapies include SVN, MDI, CPT, hyperexpansion therapy. Critical care includes mechanical ventilation, bi level and single level pressure therapy.

Position Available: 12 hour shifts 36 hours per week Holidays and rotating weekend coverage required
*Day Shift Available (7:00am-7:30pm) with occasional night shift

ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

Specific tasks or responsibilities will be documented as outlined by the incumbent's immediate manager. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate or technical degree
Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist. A current license in state practiced as required by state law. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. In Home Care setting, must possess valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications and equipment as typically obtained through 1 year of clinical experience. Must possess highly effective human relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel. Foundation Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as an RRT in the specialty area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
