The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine a UCLA currently seeks applicants for a tenured faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor rank to join the Hand Surgery Division. The incumbent will be eligible for a dual appointment in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
We are seeking outstanding candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. Applicants must have an MD and/or MD, PhD degree, and be a respected active clinical surgeon with a distinguished record of clinical excellence in hand surgery, creative research productivity, and administrative skills. Fellowship training in Plastic Surgery or Orthopaedic Hand Surgery is required. The ideal candidate will foster the growth and development of the state-of-the-art nerve transplant programs, and maintain a clinical research focus in microsurgical transfers in children and adults.
Extensive experience in reconstruction of children's hand deformities with microsurgical transfers and complex microsurgical reconstruction of the forearm, wrist, and hand is desired. Additional expertise is highly desirable in minimally invasive surgery for Dupuytren's Contracture, all aspects of carpal tunnel surgery, the variety of wrist fractures, and the most complex nerve injuries. Additional requirements include eligibility for California medical licensure, and documented experience and expertise in mentoring junior faculty. Compensation is commensurate with AAMC standards.
