Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Trinity Health to assist in their national search for a highly collaborative and progressive leader to serve as the inaugural President of Mercy Health Physician Partners (MHPP)-West Michigan. This leadership opportunity affords an innovative and dynamic executive the opportunity to join a healthcare enterprise characterized by a shared sense of purpose and a laser focus on the delivery of high quality, safe, cost-effective care through accountability and collaboration. MHPP-West Michigan is a newly merged, multi-specialty physician network that employs 733 providers: 451 physicians and 282 advanced practice professionals. MHPP-West Michigan is the product of the merger of Mercy Health's multi-specialty group in Grand Rapids and their multi-specialty group in Muskegon. MHPP-West Michigan serves the cities of Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Holland and the Lakeshore with over 85 offices/clinics. Mercy Health is a proud member of Trinity Health, one of the largest Catholic health systems in the United States.
The President will be an influential leader within MHPP-West Michigan, Mercy Health, Trinity Health Michigan and Trinity Health, along with local system physicians and hospital organizations. The incoming President will drive the organization to become a high performing medical group, working collaboratively with the leadership team at Mercy Health, Trinity Health Michigan and Trinity Health to create a shared vision and culture for MHPP-West Michigan, strengthening relationships, evolving physician leadership opportunities, and preparing the medical group to thrive under healthcare reform. The leader will create a strong culture within MHPP-West Michigan, instilling a sense of purpose and pride in the organization. The ultimate objective of the President is to coordinate patient care across people, functions, activities and operating sites, to maximize the value of services delivered for both the patient and the provider.
The President of MHPP-West Michigan will be an experienced and clinically credible leader who can clearly and comfortably communicate and collaborate with physicians of various backgrounds and administrators at various levels, establishing a culture and system to support a high-performing regional medical group.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to lead by influence and example, have a strong commitment to excellence in the care experience from a quality service aspect, and understand the integration of culture and service in creating a patient-centered care delivery model. She/he will preferably have experience in community settings, including a background in quality management, performance improvement and care redesign.
