The Section of Plastic Surgery at Michigan Medicine is seeking a faculty member to join our team at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor level. Plastic Surgery at Michigan is one of the largest academic Plastic Surgery practices in the country. It is a vibrant, growing section currently with 16 clinical faculty members, four clinical fellows, three research faculty, 28 residents and a large clinical and research presence.
The preferred candidate will have clinical duties in the areas of cosmetic surgery and general plastic surgical reconstruction. Duties also include teaching medical students, house officers and fellows in the clinical and didactic settings. Opportunities exist to pursue clinical-based research. This position will include the opportunity to develop and build the cosmetic practice at Michigan Medicine in all areas of cosmetic surgery and cosmetic medicine.
Qualified applicants should satisfy the criteria to be appointed as a faculty member with demonstrated excellence in all aspects of our tripartite mission of clinical care, teaching, and research. The selected candidate will show promise in academic pursuits and a proven track record in research.
Required qualifications include an M.D., successful completion of an approved plastic surgery residency program, board eligibility/certification in plastic surgery, and hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of Michigan. Preferred qualifications include completion of a Fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
