The Hospital Compliance Officer reports directly to a Group Compliance Officer for the Texas Group. The Group Compliance Officer reports directly to the Vice President and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
Reporting to the Hospital Compliance Officer may be other functions such as contract management or other support staff.

The Hospital Compliance Officer (HCO) has responsibility for managing the implementation of Tenetâ��s Ethics and Compliance Program for his/her assigned facilities.
The Hospital Compliance Officer's general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing Tenet's systems, processes and policies designed to ensure compliance with Federal healthcare program requirements and Tenetâ��s Quality, Compliance and Ethics Program Charter. The Compliance Officer will serve as a member of the facilityâ��s executive team and will serve as a resource to facility leadership, employees and medical staff related to compliance requirements.
Significant responsibilities of the HCO include the following:
Establish a regular schedule of visitation, rounding and feedback sessions at assigned facilities.
Participate as a member of the facility executive team (A-Team) to ensure compliance support is readily available for facility leaders.
Work in consultation with facility Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer to review CEO reports, annual business plans, Monthly Operating Reports (MOR), etc., to provide compliance oversight and direction related to facility initiatives.
Lead facility Compliance Committee meetings consistent with Charter and department standard operating procedure requirements.
Intake and coordinate with Investigations Team related to investigation of compliance matters.
Prepare and deliver facility-specific training and education in response to facility needs and requests, investigations of compliance matters, and identified risk areas.
Oversee facility auditing and monitoring activities, including quarterly referral source audits, annual facility reviews/walkthrough, and other compliance auditing activities as necessary.
Conduct annual compliance risk assessments as outlined in department standard operating procedures.
Present semi-annual reports to the facilityâ��s Governing Board and conduct annual Governing Board training as required by the Charter.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
A competitive compensation program will be tailored to the selected candidate. Base salary will be supplemented by a performance bonus and comprehensive, well-rounded benefits program, which includes relocation assistance. The performance bonus is based on the performance of Tenet as reflected in its Balanced Scorecard rather than the performance of the Hospital.
Approximately 25 percent. It is expected that the Hospital Compliance Officer will be active in a healthcare compliance association.
A Bachelorâ��s degree required is required, and a Masterâ��s degree is preferred.
Strong preference for at least three to five years of experience in the healthcare industry (or equivalent experience).
The successful candidate will be recognized for demonstrated knowledge in compliance process improvement and the requirements of Federal healthcare programs. Other success factors include past clinical, legal, auditing or other compliance experience.
