JOB SUMMARY: Oversees patient's wound care case for the Center for Wound and Burn Healing across the continuum to provide seamless care to its recurrent patient population. Communicates and collaborates closely with physicians, other members of the health care team and patient's family members to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds and/ or burns. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provides age specific treatment. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Provides nursing care as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the hospital, The Center for Wound and Burn Healing, the State Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, the Code of ethics for Nurses, the Department of Health Regulations, JCAHO requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
REQUIREMENTS: Current NJ RN licensure required. BLS Certification Required. (American Heart Association) Must have a minimum of 1 year medical/surgical experience. Wound care, burn care and/or outpatient experience preferred. Wound care certification preferred. Successful completion of all orientation programs.
