The Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Memorial Health Care and UMass Medical School is recruiting an experienced Family Medicine Physician as our next Vice Chair for Education. The Vice Chair for Education is a member of the Senior Leadership Team with the responsibility for the Department’s education programs. The Vice Chair has oversight of a rigorous curriculum, with attention to addressing wellness, social determinants of health, evidence-based medicine and team-based practice transformation at all our teaching practices. The Department supports educational programs that span the undergraduate, graduate, faculty development, and CME arenas. We have four family medicine residency programs and six fellowship programs.
We are currently accepting applications and seek candidates Board Certified in Family Medicine with extensive experience in medical education and academic administration. Our ideal candidates will have formal training in educational methods and evaluation. We seek faculty with personal attributes that inspire trust and respect of faculty, trainees, and staff including excellent interpersonal skills, financial and budgetary acumen and a demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion. Candidates must qualify for a faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or above.
