Description
This position is responsible for performing standard and complex electroencephalograms. Performs routine EEG's for inpatient and outpatient populations including all ages.Performs Video EEG's for inpatient and outpatient populations including all ages.
Performs cerebral silence EEG's for inpatients of all ages. Schedules all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department. Refers outpatients to centralized scheduling.Maintains all diagnostic equipment by assuring that they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient. Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation and files reports. Checks weekly for needed supplies.Performs assessments on patients of various ages prior to the diagnostic procedures.Demonstrates competency to do assigned client care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served in the department.Appropriately adapts assigned client assessment, treatment and/ or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age specific and other developmental needs of each patient served.Is able to assist with performing EKG's and stress testing as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements
A. Education/Skills
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant Program or one year of career oriented college credits (24 credit hours) is preferred
B. Expertise
  • One year experience in performing EEG in a clinical setting is required.
  • Six months experience with EKG/Stress testing preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • CPR certification is required.
