The Chair position is the clinical, academic, and administrative head of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University. The Chair will provide vision and direction for the Department to support exceptional quality and cost-effective care, excellence in graduate medical education, and impactful research activity. He or she will provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership to drive program and service growth. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, motivated, and clinically excellent academic otolaryngologist with strong business acumen and leadership skills.
Reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Medicine, the Chair has responsibility and accountability for the clinical and academic performance of all divisions within the Department. The following divisions are included in the Department of Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery, Rhinology, Laryngology, Neuro-otology, Allergy, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive, and Pediatric Otolaryngology. Currently, eleven full-time physician faculty members across these divisions provide a broad scope of otolaryngology services. Advanced practice providers support the clinical program in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
