Lead the Dedicated Women’s Emergency Department at Women & Infants Hospital/Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI as a member of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Women & Infants Hospital/Alpert Medical School of Brown University introduces a desirable opportunity to be the Medical Director of the Women’s Dedicated Emergency Department at Women & Infants Hospital. This is a full-time academic appointment within the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, ranked #11 in 2019 US News and World report Best Obstetrics and Gynecology Programs, affiliated with the Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
As the Medical Director you will:
Have 20% dedicated administrative protected time
Evaluate, track, and communicate quality metrics (e.g. time to provider, ED length of stay, etc.) and patient satisfaction scores to improve on ED throughput and patient satisfaction
Update ED clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure adherence with evidence-based practice
Work closely with key leaders including
ED Nurse Manager to oversee both clinical and administrative staff
Quality Department to ensure regulatory compliance
Director of Patient and Family Centered Care on patient satisfaction initiatives
Directors of inpatient and outpatient divisions ensure care coordination
HIM and IS to maximize provider documentation and subsequent coding/billing
As a member of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology you will enjoy:
Clinical supervision and teaching of medical students and residents
Options for diverse clinical opportunities including outpatient, surgical and hospitalist time
Hospitalist responsibilities including Labor & Delivery, Inpatient care and Women’s ED Department
Hospitalist shifts (12-hours) include nights, weekends and holidays which are evenly distributed amongst all team members
