Cookeville Regional Medical Center is an independent community hospital currently seeking an experienced for the Director of Women’s Services in the Upper Cumberland of central Tennessee, approximately one hour east on Nashville. The position will manage strategic oversight and operational performance within Women’s Services, including, but not limited to: labor and delivery, post-partum, lactation services, and nursery.
Provides leadership, guidance, planning and direction in achieving outcomes consistent with organizational mission, goals, and objectives Assumes leadership responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinically effective and efficient systems of care and service within the continuum of care. • This position will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of Cookeville Regional Medical Center, serve on and numerous hospital initiatives and remain a constant for financial stewardship.
These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.
Responsible for both clinical and administrative functions related to labor and delivery, post-partum, lactation services and nursery.
Assumes responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of clinically efficient and effective systems within the continuum of care.
Responsible for making independent judgment/decisions concerning emergency situations in the absence of the physician or other medical authority.
Responsible for the recruitment, development and retention of qualified staff for all assigned departments.
Responsible for the strategic oversight of nursing education for the assigned departments.
Responsible and accountable for the attainment of departmental goals and objectives, level of performance to ensure quality patient care, administration of personnel, and the fiscal responsibilities, which include operating and capital budgets.
Works collaboratively with physicians to adopt and incorporate quality initiatives.
Develop policies, procedures, protocols, standards of care, performance improvement initiatives, staff training and recognition, and problem solving and resolutions.
Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care.
Ensures that all services comply with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Minimum Required Education: BSN, or bachelor’s in related field with Registered Nurse Licensure. Master's preferred in relevant field
Experience: 3 to 5 years of OB leadership experience in a hospital setting is required
