* Duties include a mixture of research, clinical medicine and administrative responsibilities * Opportunity to lead and develop growing faculty group of 24 physicians in the Pulmonary Critical Care Department * Leadership of PCC division, development of team culture, mentor younger physicians, leadership responsibilities in hospital service line and transplant hospital service line * Potential candidates must be clinically active in all facets of Pulmonary Critical Care and also have a strong research and research program development background * 18 Internal Medicine Faculty responsible for substantial NIH funding as reported by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR) * Research interests include Malaria, HIV, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Diabetes and Lung Transplant * Service lines include CTICU, medical management of medium ICU, House Staff, rotations and consults for ICU care of the Stroke Service * Candidates must demonstrate progressive leadership skills, administrative experience and innovative entrepreneurial capabilities * Internal Medicine Program in the top 4% of Internal Medicine Programs in preparing students for residency * Medical School is ranked 34th in federal research expenditures for public universities * Excellent starting salary plus additional compensation for Chief responsibilities * Commitment to multidisciplinary team-based care * Best Hospitals- national ranked in 6 specialties US News & World Report
