The Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a nationally recognized academic cardiologist to serve as the section chief of electrophysiology (EP) within the Division of Cardiology.
One of the leading cardiology divisions nationally, the Division of Cardiology at UCLA comprises a distinguished cadre of 144 faculty members across the full spectrum of cardiovascular care and research. The EP section has 10 clinical faculty and 4 physician scientists. Our state-of-the-art clinical services offer comprehensive care for diagnosing and treating complex arrhythmias in collaboration with the UCLA cardiomyopathy, adult congenital heart disease, genetic testing, structural, and surgical services. The UCLA EP research program has a strong focus on clinical and translational research including NIH and industry sponsored clinical trials that span arrhythmia management, cardiac devices, medications and procedures. The program has a strong track record of publications as well as research funding. The UCLA EP fellowship program has 4 fellows in training and offers robust opportunities for research training.
Reporting to the UCLA Chief of Cardiology, Dr. Priscilla Hsue, the section chief provides leadership and oversight for the EP section, working collaboratively with clinical, academic, and administrative leaders within the division, department, school of medicine and UCLA Health to advance the missions of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and community engagement, while further elevating the stature of the division in the region and nationally.
The ideal candidate is a distinguished cardiologist with an outstanding record of academic accomplishments who has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record of collaboration. All candidates must hold an MD or equivalent, be board certified or board eligible in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and eligible for licensure in California.

This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
