General Surgeon
A general surgeon is a medical doctor who possesses the advanced training and experience, as well as the license, to perform operations on several areas of the body. General surgeons are qualified to operate on the following areas: abdomen, alimentary tract, soft tissue, endocrine system, head, and neck. Additionally, burn trauma, oncology, vascular and thoracic surgeries may be performed by these individuals. The selectee for this position will be an important part of the care team responsible for providing access to General Surgery services for Veterans in the Salisbury system represented by the main medical center in Salisbury and two outpatient health care centers in Kernersville and Charlotte.
